Amazon Searching For Workers As Far As Rhode Island

The Amazon facility will not be opening its doors until the 21st of September thus the online retailer is still busy searching for potential workers from far away cities.
The potential employees will be earning an hourly rate that will range from $12.75 to 14.74. They can attend three different schedules of informational sessions starting next week in Rode Island. For those who are planning to apply, there will be a meeting on July 19 that will be held in the Providence netWORKri Career Center at 10 in the morning. There will also be two sessions happening on July 21 to be held at the East Bay Community Action of East Providence – the first one at 9 in the morning and second one at 1 in the afternoon.
According to the deputy director of the Bristol Country Training Consortium, Holly Hill-Batista, the major reason why the company is looking for other places is that the Fall River Career Center is under a bigger group of career centers that are operating within the city of Massachusetts. She also added that they have also announced job openings at Rhode Island because it is common for residents living on that side to travel into this part. Amazon is a large company thus reaching out to wider potential employees is important.
Next week, there will be a total of nine meetings that will be held by Amazon. According to Batista, an email was sent out last Monday containing all the locations as well as additional details.
The press secretary representing the City of Providence, Emily Crowell, said that they have a regional economy and the opportunity that Amazon is giving will benefit the entire region. This also goes to show that Rhode Island is able to meet demand that the employer is looking for in a worker.
Potential workers will be taking care of large packages and it is a requirement that they must be at least 18 years old or older. Other requirements include a high school diploma, computer literate and must have a personal email address to be used.
